As a volunteer you are directly influencing the children of Grace Athens. You are teaching them to love God, love neighbor and to be a blessing to the world in their own unique ways.
As a team (the director, interns and volunteers) seek to provide an inviting, energetic environment that gives the children the opportunity to hear God’s Word and have fun in creative ways. Volunteers will work to create meaningful connections with the children, where they feel safe and comfortable. They will be expected to get a little uncomfortable at times in order to pour themselves into the lives of our little people.
On a given Sunday, volunteers may be expected to do all of the following:
-Help set up the classroom
-Prepare any finishing touches for the craft
-Dance/ worship with the children
-Assist in small group breakouts (craft, older kid’s discussion, other activities related to the Bible story)
- Change diapers (nursery space)
- Feed/ rock/ hold babies ages 3 months- 2 years old (nursery space)
- Assist with sign in/ greeting parents/ name tags
There’s nothing quite like watching a three year old raise their hands in worship to God. There’s nothing quite like witnessing the moment when God makes sense of something in the lives of our older children! We invite you to join us in our journey as we rediscover who God is in the light of Jesus.
When: Sundays, 8:30 AM - 10:30 AM
Where do they meet: In the back of the building, downstairs in the conference room
